Bad Glacier

Yes! I’m back from New York, and as I sort of suspected, this decision isn’t going to make itself. In short, I liked Columbia. A lot. I’ll put up a more substantial post in a few days when I get one written up.

Also, I got my financial aid package from Michigan while I was gone. After Harvard’s award, I got my hopes up a little. Bad move. Michigan is giving me even less. Admittedly, it’s cheaper to live in Ann Arbor than Boston, but even accounting for the cost-of-living difference and Michigan’s summer start, Harvard’s package still looks better.

This doesn’t necessarily rule Michigan out; I might not like Harvard, and Columbia could stiff me on aid, but I think it’s likely that one of those two schools will come through.
